Are the courses self-paced?

To earn certification, you must pass a written exam with a minimum score of 87% and complete a practical exam that requires identifying gemstones with 100% accuracy.

Can I retake the exams if I fail?

Yes, you can retake the written exam as many times as necessary to achieve a passing score. The practical exam requires a perfect score to pass.

    All exams are conducted online via your GemXplore account. Practical exams involve gemstone identification, and GemXplore ships the gem kits for testing.

  • Do I need any prior experience in gemology to take the courses?
    No prior experience is required. Our courses are designed for beginners as well as experienced professionals looking to deepen their knowledge.

  • How long do I have access to the course materials?
    Once enrolled, you have lifetime access to the course materials, allowing you to revisit them anytime.

  • What is the refund policy?
    You are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided the gem kit has not yet been shipped.

    While GIA’s Graduate Gemologist degree is the gold standard in the industry, GemXplore provides an affordable and flexible option for those who may not have the time or resources for a GIA course.
